Duff's Home Building and Design, Inc. is a custom home construction company located in Pittsboro, North Carolina. Established in 1993, we are owned and managed by Malcolm D. Duff, a North Carolina licensed General Contractor.
Our company is organized into four complimentary divisions that work together as a whole, offering design, custom homes, additions/renovations, and a custom cabinet business. By maintaining four small yet unique divisions we are able to achieve controlled growth in a fluctuating economy.
We are all a close-knit family here and welcome every client in the same spirit.
Malcolm Duff- General Contractor/Owner
At the age of nineteen, Malcolm built his first home. He has built throughout five different states along the East Coast during the thirty years since then. Building in these different regions has given him the advantage of learning a broad range of techniques used in the industry. He is still going strong and plans to for many years to come.
"As a teenager, my father would ask me to draw and make changes to the blueprints of homes he was building. I have always had a passion for drawing and creating not only on paper but physically as well. Of course when I started designing it was with a T-square and straight edge, then with a mechanical drafting arm; now I use sophisticated computer design software."
Vanessa Kellam- Design Assistant
Vanessa started working with Duff's Home Building & Design in August of 2005. She developed an interest in the company when she was a client, working with us throughout the final stages of her own home construction. We see Vanessa as a huge asset; having experienced the design/build process as a client, she has a unique perspective.
Dedrah Earles - Office Manager
In addition to her real estate background, years of office experience, and excellent people skills, Dedrah is the sister of Malcolm Duff. They have been working side-by-side for 7 years and compliment each other greatly.
Sarah Walters - Office Assistant
Sarah is the daughter of Dedrah Earles and niece of Malcolm Duff. She worked with Duff's Home Building & Design during the summer of 1997 as a temporary position. After working with Duff's Home Building & Design for a summer, she went to work for Home Depot's Customer Service Desk. Recently she had a little girl and realized the importance of family. Working in a family environment is what she really wants.
